Turn It Up!!!!

Posted: 21st Aug 2012

After the Facebook mayhem with the Black & White fish resulting in the front cover of Anglers Mail, this week things have not cooled down to say the least!!! If anything it has hotted up?!

The weather at the weekend has touched 40oc and it truly feels like you are walking into an oven, it's being compared to the summer of 2003 when so many people died in France due to the heatwave, and we are experiencing the same kind of temp but hopefully for not as longer a period.

All we can do is sit it out for a storm to break the blistering heat, and it is not the weather for putting an aquatic creature on the bank. The two lads this week who have booked the lake are filling the cradles with water about 10" deep so the fish have their gills and head completely submerged under the water. You would think in this heat the fish would come at night or early morning but once again 15:00 in the afternoon blazing sun John in peg 3 put a 31lb Common on the bank followed by a 44lb 8oz Long spawned out Mirror, it's baffling sometimes.

It will be a slow week that is for sure with the weather conditions, but a few more in the net over the week will be a good result for the two lads who are trying to stay alive.

Will keep you updated on the progress towards the backend of the week.

I think I'm sleeping in the chest freezer tonight!!
