A Week Of Chilling!!

Posted: 26th Aug 2012

Well last week has been and gone with Kev & Jon who have come here for the last 3 years, enjoying another week of chilling out and bagging fish over 40lb each. Jon is a fantastic angler but I'm sure they wont mind me saying that it was just as much a week or recuperation along with bagging a few. They did relax for most of the week and did not fish "all out", but on Thursday when they got their heads on the game they landed 8 fish in 24 hrs.

The week ended with 17 fish in total, best going 44lb 8oz and another of 43lb. 9x 30lb+ fish and 6x 20lb+ (including 5 x upper 20lb and a 29lb 12oz) All the fish are still down in weight with the odd mark left from spawning but in the next month they should start to pile it back on.

The fish had moved down in pegs 4 & 5 all week with no one fishing for them, but it took until Wednesday for Kev to make the move after not catching in peg 2, and within the first 24hrs in peg 5 he had 3 fish including the 43lb, fairplay. The fish could be seen each morning bubbling out in the middle of the lake and popping the heads out to clear their gills at the same 9.00am time like clockwork each day.

CC.Moore nut mix was used which I'm not 100% confident about here, but like Jon said the wrong bait on the right spot makes all the difference!!!!

Great company as usual, and one thing is for sure the lads went home with more sunshine on there backs than seen all year back in Blighty.

Week 22 is underway with our regular Liverpool lads ready to do battle. A 36lb mirror in the bag last night so I'm sure the lads will get on them.
