To say the fish are ripping the bottom up is an under statement!!! I think it has been a long time coming that the fish are now in every corner of the lake and feeding hard on naturals & bait!! The change with the baitboat rules has turned things around much quicker than I had hoped and no doubt it's for all to see.
The Liverpool lads are "having it away" now and they have worked the pattern out with baiting ,resting swims, & really are getting the fish going. 24 fish in the bag but the last 12 hours have been pure quality with the lads taking a 38,39,40,40,42,42 and 45 with Keith in Peg 3 telling me it was like a bucket of Alka Seltzer had been tipped into his swim this morning, with the fish ripping the bottom up over his middle rod 60 yards out, before his rod is pulled out of the rests once again and another 30 minute fight unfolds, great fishing.
No doubt the fish will keep coming this week but we have a full blue moon forcast for Friday night so we will see if that changes things. All our regulars know my thoughts on fishing and a full moon, but what they don't know is I'm really a White Witch!!!!
On the wildlife front there are a pair of Tawny Owls working the lake banks at dusk, along with a Barn Owl screaching through the dead of night, A Buck Roe Deer was barking this morning up in the forest, and the Martins & Swallows are all fattening up for the migration. Not long now and the Red Squirrels will have their calling to start banking the walnuts through Autumn ready for the winter chill, all in all there is no better time to be on the Bank, Happy Days.
Time to log off, back soon.
