First Flurry Of Snow

Posted: 9th Dec 2012

Its been quiet of late as we build up to Christmas and with the first flurry of snow a few days ago winter is truley upon us.

With the lakes being nestled down in the valley they do benefit from the extra sunshine in the summer, but at this time of the year it's role reversal with the cold hugging the lakes throughout the winter and it is noticable as you walk from the house down to the lakes, you do feel the temperature decrease. I have not seen many signs of fish over the last week and even the predators don't seem to be striking very much either, never mind carp crashing.

I have been spending most days clearing the chateau lake grill which is located down stream from ourselves, to control the water level in the valley it is vital that I keep the outlet grill clear of leaves and this allows me to remove the excess water which can build quite quickly at this time of the year. With all the snow melt and heavy rain we have had over the last week we are not short of water this winter and it is a postive site for the following summer that the springs located around the land are pushing a steady flow of water for the summer months.

I'm trying to finish off some of my artwork for Christmas which will be for sale on the website. If all goes to plan I should be able to list them over the next week and they will be mounted and ready for posting, if someone is looking for a unique bespoke Christmas present. Some of the artwork for the clothing range will also be for sale so I will try and list that too over the coming week.

Well it's time to wind down for the festive period, put our feet up and enjoy one or two well deserved glasses of wine. We would like to thank all our regulars for supporting this little piece of heaven we have tried to build over the last 6 seasons, and like I keep harping on about, "the best is yet to come" Happy Christmas to you all and without your support we would not be here today striving to better the fishery.

We will be back soon, enjoy, and we will be seeing most of you again when the sun is shining once again.

Happy Days

Adam, Jayne, Gabriel, Lucas, Reuben & Wookie.
