Black & White please!!

Posted: 21st Jul 2012

Week 16 has now come to a close, and after 4 years of coming back to the fishery the "Geordie lads" fulfilled their mission, with the "Black & White" fish falling to Tims rods in Peg 3. Once again this sneaky fish came out no more than 15 yards out, on a gravel patch and was a new spot from its usual peg 5 haunt, but at 36lb 5oz after spawning it was a promising weight!!. Like I have been saying for a couple of years now, don't out rule the middle area and margins, they might not produce numbers of fish but do throw up a "Jewel" from time to time.

The lads fished well all week and ended on 26 fish in the bag, a fair few hook pulls totalling 12 did effect the final tally again, but for July it was another cracking week. Best fish was a spawned out mirror of 45lb 12oz followed by another of 44lb 2oz & 42lb 12oz. 12 fish over 30lb+ (7 over 35lb including a 39lb) 8x 20lb+ (including 6 upper 20lb) and 3 grassies all 25lb+. Nash squid liver doing the business with another week of the lads using good beds of "Sanctuary" pellet getting the fish feeding hard. It was another week of great company and all you need now lads is the perfect Linear next year!!

The wind has played a role this week, and this year more than most if the wind has changed direction the fish have moved on it. Which has allowed the fish to move from one end of the lake to the other, and in turn spread the fish out for all to have a fair chance.

I will leave it there for now and we are hoping to get the facility on the blog where we can update a picture each week along with the text, so you can see something to get the juices flowing!!

I will update a wildife blog in the next few days because the place is still alive with the sound of summer before Autumn arrives and the birds start to depart for pastures new.
