Staying Out Of The Way!!
Posted: 16th Aug 2015
Its been another busy week but the larger fish have been elusive this week. To be honest its been such a consistent season so far, but it had to slow down a tad at some stage and the fish have started to push into areas of the lake that they feel safe and can find a little peace. The regular lads this week dropped into Pegs 1,2,3,4 leaving 5 free which has been the second week on the trot, this has given the fish a place to rest up free from lines and they seemed to take advantage of it. Lots of bubbling could be seen all over the lake in each swim, but half way through the week I could see a lot of fish down in Peg 5 late in the evening, swirling and bubbling all over the whole area in front of the Peg. Mark did drop into the swim some time mid week and had 3 pick-ups in the day time which was a change from most of the fish now being caught through the night along with late evening and early morning.
All the lads fished well putting in 100% but it was Mark in Peg 4 catching the better fish, John had the largest of the week with a grassie of 42lb from Peg 3 again, Dan was getting the small stuff in Peg 2, along with Craig taking 7 fish from Peg 1 but 5 being grassies most of which were just over 30lb+. Mark had 2 fish over 39lb+, 38, 37, 36lb and the total for the week was 33 fish landed between the chaps.
All in all plenty of action but with the bigger fish not feeding it allowed the younger carp to get in on the bait first and the grassies also took advantage with no weed present.
Next season is looking busy already but a few weeks are still remaining if you're thinking of booking, please feel free to send an email if you require any information or availability.
We have 3 regulars on this week and the lads have spread out in Pegs 1, 4 & 5. Lots of bubbling again this morning and I hope the lads get amongst the fish this week.
