Pink Bags & Peperami

Posted: 31st May 2016

Its been another great weeks fishing and the chaps this week set 3 new pbs this week so they could not have been happier. Mat who organised the group came many years ago when we first opened, so it was good catching up again and the 3 lads joining him could not wait to get down to the lake and start fishing. The fish once again moved on the Saturday change over and it was Scott first out of the blocks catching on the first night and I was greeted to the guys photgraphing his new pb of 50lb 8oz when I came down with breakfast on the Sunday morning!!!Mat dropped in 5 with his catch rate building over the week, Craig and Mike in 3 & 4 had to work hard but slowly started to get amongst them with a few changes to spots and rigs over the week. Now craig in Peg 3 turned up with the brightest pink sports bag you have seen....Victoria beckham would have loved it and I mentioned he was doing no stalking with it!!!! Now him was claiming it was "the Missus" bag while loading the pick-up so we had a good laugh, followed by many more including how he planned on returning next year without his good lady knowing! Now most men whould treat their good wife to flowers etc, but Craig insisted she loved Pepperami, LOL so i suggested why not buy her a bunch of red roses with a pack of the meaty animal stuck in the middle of the bunch....nice touch I thought!

Well the boys fished well, all enjoying the sun after the two days of downpours early in the week. It seems to knock the fish off the feed for a while but once the sun started shining the fish soon started looking for bait again. Once again the weather is not playing ball so the temp is yo-yoing every week knocking any chances of spawning on the head so far. The females are looking tubby now and do want to get-on with it so we need just a couple of weeks of steady constant weather and it should kick-off.

Mat took the second 50 of the week at 51lb from Peg 5 and setting a new pb along with the chaps catching 6 fish over 40lb+ to 48lb.15 fish over 30lb+ with 7 between 38-39lb so a big percentage of the 30s are ready to go 40lb and upper 40s moving into the 50 bracket. 14 fish over 20lb+ to 29lb so a total of 37 fish was great fishing once again along with 5 lovely stockies under 20lb not included in the total.Mike fished his socks off all week and it came good with a cheeky margin spot producing a pick-up each day with fish to 39lb+. All in all it was an enjoyable weeks fishing allround, with plenty of laughs and fish to be had.....well done lads you fished well this week.

We are onto a new group of anglers this week, some nice fish have been caught but we have had rain of biblical proportions over the last 48hrs so the fishing has ground to a halt today, but on a positive note the the 15 acre lake is overflowing and full to the brim in less than 48 hours!!! Wow that's 10 million gallons of water gone in there which is hard to believe I know.
