Well the hot weather continues with bouts of spawning on and off over the last month and the two chaps this week gave it 110%  which was great to see.

Both chaps have not been to the fishery before and when they arrived I could have sworn Chris was Rod Hutchinson in his younger days....a dead ringer for sure and "Hutchy" was his name for the week. Richard also took me back down memory lane pulling a tub of pops-up out of his bag that he reckons would take fish anywhere and see if i could guess the flavour....two sniffs later & I'm 15 again stood in Trev's of Wilmslow listening to "Oz" & "Frank" talking about Nouvelle fizz & Autumn Harvest tearing the Mere apart.......I have hung onto a 3rd of a bottle for years with myself knowing full well when bites are hard to come by, the Nouvelle will put a fish on the bank!!I think the flavour was relaunched recently but it's just not the same as the original stuff.

Once again the fish put on a teriffic show for the chaps and could be seen for most of the week in all of the pegs, close in, boshing out, cruising through the small weed beds, everything but picking up bait. Like I said the chaps fished really hard, up at all hours watching, listening and tweeking rigs and bait and it seemed that pva bags presented in or near the weed for Rich in Peg 4, very close in started producing the goods. Chris also picked off random fish with no pattern evident at all....but with the temps well into the 30s it was suncream and shade in order most of the week!

Despite the very tough weather conditions indeed they managed 7 fish between them, with no loses and a very nice specimen Roach. Most of the fish were males and a couple of completely spawned out females.....5 fish over 30lb+ to 35lb and a couple of 20s....nothing big this week but that is irrelevent because the chaps well and truly deserved each fish, well done boys!

We have 3 regulars on this week but I think we have all melted and slipped through the cracks in the ground this week....so maybe no more blogs..haha.
