Problems with Contact Us Form

Posted: 9th Jul 2013

Just a quick email in relation to issues with contacting us. We have had 4 different enquires over the last week requesting spaces available, but we are unable to reply as there are no contact details, this applies to the booking form too. If you don't put your email address and contact phone number on the form we cannot get back to you. It's very important you fill this information in via the website contact page/booking form, any problems just pick up the phone.

Our Regular Brummy group are on this week and as to be expected Frank in Peg 1 is complaining about the heat, but this time he has every right to!!! 30 oc over the last 2 days in the "SHADE" it's like an oven but a strongish westly wind is helping a little. The lads have had 5 fish so far which is not bad considering the heat, best fish being a spawned out mirror of 44lb 10oz to Steve in Peg 5. The lads are trying the boilie approach on 2 rods with pellet & boilie on the 3rd to try and get a comparable between the 2 methods, this is being adopted by the 3 of them so it will be intresting to see the results at the end of the week.

The one thing that concerns me about this weather is fish welfare and after all the spawning the fish are tired and need that extra care, with temps so high to be honest fish should not be on the bank, so if the lads are happy to do the pictures in the water all the better I think. If fish are lifted out it's paramount that the cradles are filled up with fresh water straight from the lake and not left in a bucket or inside the cradle to boil in the sun, that way the water temp is the same as the lake which prevents shocking the fish any more than necessary, and enough water to cover the fishes head completely, that way the gills are submersed which protects them from the intense heat. It's all common sense but I have seen lads in the past putting fish into the cradles that have become red hot in the sun, with hardly any water because they are more bothered about getting their clothes wet, when the fish are splashing water everywhere!!! It all helps and like I keep saying we all want to catch fish in good clean condition and we all play a part in that.

Anyway it's time to start piling the fires up from the tree cutting ready for burning so if you see flames from the Ferry Port phone Fireman Sam!!!
