Bowl On A Pole

Posted: 22nd Sep 2014

Well another week comes to an end with another rollercoaster unfolding over the course of the week. The lads did spread out fishing Pegs 1,3,4 & 5 for most of the week but Paul did move from 5 to 2 on the Thursday which did pay off for him. The fish were very active at the beginning of the week with lots of crashing day & night but that did fluctuate each day with some days being quieter then others. Richard in Peg 1 lost a fish on the Monday after feeling it on for a brief moment, but by the Tuesday the lads landed a couple of mid 30lb fish and another of 32lb and a stocky, things were looking up but apart fom Peter losing a fish at the net on Wednesday it was quiet. Peter then broke his duck with a new pb of 28lb on the Thursday and Rich taking a stunning 26lb+ linear on the Friday, followed by Paul moving from 5 and taking a 39lb 4oz mirror from Peg 2 straight after an aborted take 5 minutes earlier. The lads used an extended baiting spoon which did help bank a few extra bonace fish this week and to be honest I don't think Rich & Paul could have worked any harder, well done lads. All in all 3 new pb's and a few more tricks up the lads sleaves for next years trip will stand them in good stead.

The fish have been bubbling like crazy of late so they are on the naturals, with the lake looking very cloudy in the morning after their grubbing around. This has continued so far this week but the weather is all over the show again so we shall see how it pans out. The 3 lads this week have had a good start with 7 fish out by Sunday evening including a brace of 40lb+ fish to 43lb 12oz in the daytime on the Sunday. Lets hope they keep going and the fish get on the bait now the weed is dying back.

Back Soon
