Sunshine Then Hailstorms
Posted: 23rd Mar 2014
From the picture below you would think looking out from the wooden cabin that the blue sky was late spring, and it has felt so in the sunshine this week. But this evening we have been hit with a very moody hailstorm with temps dropping to 3oc and feeling very different than earlier this week. It's set to be coooler for the week ahead, but the forcast is picking up towards next weekend just in time for the start of the season which will be fanstatic if we see a nice warm start for the year ahead.
I have been in the boat this evening giving the fish a free meal of Pellet, Boilie & maize and the water is clouding up nicely, indicating that the fish are active at the moment and moving around most areas of the lake. Their is no pattern at present with some mornings the fish seeming to be on mass at either end of the lake, but I would say they are moving as one main group at the moment. Started to see many more fish crashing while working down at the lake through the day which is always a great site for any angler when they hoof themselves out to the wrist of the tail.
All in all we are on track with the cabin having a new lick of paint inside & out, Gravel finished this week coming, and hopefully just enough time to cut the remainder of the bankside willows that need thinning out.
We are really looking forward to the season ahead and hopefully a few new pb's will be broken and good times had allround. So get those reels oiled up chaps and get ready to flex some carbon because it's all about to happen!!!
