Is That An Ass In My Bivvy

Posted: 3rd Sep 2012

It was one of them moments that you had to be there because the timing was priceless.Keith from last weeks group had been talking with Mark & Neil in peg 2 when a single bleep on his bite alarm signaled his middle rod was about to "one tone" so he sprinted back to his peg. At this point Mark shout's down "Is all good" and Keith bends down to get something from his bivvy and replys with "I'm In" to get the lads going!! The timing was pure quality b…

Dont Listen to the Bailiff?

Posted: 9th Sep 2012

Another week has passed and what a strange week it was with the lake turning once again on the flip of a coin on the Saturday change over. Mr Thompson one of our regulars arrived with Paul who came a few years back to pit their wits but it was a week of chasing? Tony has had the Grave Digger Common 3 times in as many years coming here, all on the same very unusual bait, but this time he brought something different and I'm not sure if it worked well? A…

Grahams Tip Off

Posted: 16th Sep 2012

Week 24 has now passed and the lads from Macc were great company once again and it turned out a good week in the end. But on a more bitter note before the catch report, Graham had a fish take him under the Willows on the far bank in peg 3, and he went out in the boat to sort it on the Friday. The fish had shed the hook but he said he thought a fish was tethered because they was a mass of bubbles erupting from under the bush when he was out in the boa…

37lb = 37 Minutes?

Posted: 19th Sep 2012

It's half way through week 24 and the fish are now having a feed-up for the autumnal change. 24 fish landed so far and hardly any losses which is good to see, and all 3 lads have caught good fish. Mr Grants Group came here 2 seasons ago so they were very surprised how much the lake had matured and settled down after the major lake bed work that took place in the winter/ spring of 2009/2010, and I have to agree that the lakes have never looke…

37 Is The Magic Number

Posted: 24th Sep 2012

The number 37 has cropped up again after the 37lb mirror doing battle for 37 minutes, but this time we have 37mm of rain on Friday, which is the very first drop we have seen for over 3 months. To say it has been another dry summer is an understatement, and once again the land is looking parched like Africa. The lakes have held up well with the weather conditions but the rain was very welcome, and the fish did respond!! The chaps all fished well …

"Dave was that your Delkim?"

Posted: 30th Sep 2012

Another week of regulars in the shape of the Stoke Brothers arriving for the second time this year, and it is always a week to look forward to with plenty of laughs and a few tales along the way!!! Now John in Peg 4  I think is starting to lose his marbles, apart from putting things down and not remembering where they are, he "swears blind" he could hear a Delkim alarm going off behind his bivvy late Friday night. Now his brother Dave in pe…
